RACHEL S. GUNTHER, ESQUIRE        Principal Attorney/Owner

    Rachel Settles Gunther has been working in the legal field for more than ten years and most recently opened her own firm in 2010.  Originally from central Kentucky, Rachel obtained her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in 2000.  After taking a year off between her undergraduate and graduate studies for mission work in Spain with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), she obtained her J.D. degree from Regent University School of Law in 2005.  Rachel worked full-time in a Virginia Beach law firm while attending her law classes part-time at Regent.  During her time in school, Rachel’s legal intern work focused mainly in the areas of transactional law, centered in the areas of real estate, business associations, and estate planning law.

    After graduation from law school in 2005, Rachel obtained her bar license in Virginia and worked at a couple of different firms in the Hampton Roads area, in offices in Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.   Rachel and her husband, Stephen, moved to Hertford, North Carolina in 2006 and after a couple of years, Rachel applied for and successfully obtained her license to practice law in North Carolina. 

    After five years of practice, Rachel opened her own firm, Rachel S. Gunther, P.C., in the spring of 2010.  She currently shares her time between offices in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Hertford, North Carolina.  While she continues to focus her practice in the areas of transactional law she learned during her pre-licensing days, she also practices in the areas of civil litigation, domestic law, and landlord tenant relations.  Rachel is a frequent speaker on the topic of estate planning, and donates her time speaking at local community lectures and as an instructor at adult learning centers.  Rachel’s professional affiliations include: Virginia State Bar, North Carolina State Bar, U.S. Bankruptcy Bar (Eastern District of Virginia), and the North Carolina Bar Association.  In addition her own practice, Rachel also serves as counsel for Hertford Savings Bank in Hertford, North Carolina.

    Rachel seeks balance with her legal career with her family including her husband Stephen, her two step-sons Tyler and Trent, her pug Mr. Peabody, and her newborn son Zane. 


JENNA M. WILLIAMS, ESQUIRE            Associate Attorney

        Jenna M. Williams is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of North Carolina.  Jenna completed two Bachelor Degrees, History and English, at East Carolina University and graduated cum laude with both University and History Honors.  Jenna attended law school at Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis where she earned her Juris Doctorate.  During her law school career, Jenna participated in Moot Court, worked with Improving Kid's Environment during an externship for school, and also acted as a Guardian Ad Litem with Kid's Voice.   Along with her course load, Jenna also gained valuable courtroom experience during school as she worked with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for 2 years.  During her first year, Jenna helped out with juvenile, homicide, sex crimes, and community prosecution matters.  In her second year with the Marion County Prosecutor' s Office, Jenna's focus was mostly on major felonies.  While in Indiana, Jenna also completed training in alternative dispute resolution and public policy mediation


        After graduation, Jenna moved to Virginia where she passed the Virginia Bar and was sworn in by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a member of the Virginia State Bar.  Her professional affiliations include the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Virginia Women's Attorney Association (Hampton Roads Chapter), and Virginia Beach Bar Association.  Jenna has also served as a court-appointed attorney with the Virginia Beach General District courts. Jenna’s practice areas include: Criminal and Traffic law, Family law, Personal Injury, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, Small Claims Litigation, and Social Security Disability claims in Virginia.  Jenna also handles Social Security Disability claims in North Carolina.




JOHNNIE L. FINCH, JR., ESQUIRE              Associate Attorney

  Johnnie Finch is a licensed attorney in the State of North Carolina.  He is native to Northeastern North Carolina, and a graduate of Perquimans High School in Hertford, North Carolina.  In 2003, Johnnie obtained his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Elizabeth City State University.  While working on his degree in sociology, in 2003, Johnnie became a Juvenile Justice Officer with the NC Department of Juvenile Justice.   In 2007, he completed a Bachelor of Art in Sociology also at Elizabeth City State University.  From 2005 to 2008, Johnnie participated in a youth mentoring program in Northeastern, North Carolina.  In 2012, Johnnie completed his Juris Doctor at Regent University School of Law.   While attending Regent University School of Law, Johnnie interned  two summers with the North Carolina District Attorney Office in District 1. 

  Johnnie is a devout Christian and always been heavily involved in the local communities in Northeastern, North Carolina. He is a member of Greater Saunder’s Grove Ministry Baptist Church in Tyner, North Carolina.  Recently he has been speaking to high school students and parents on the dangers associated with sexting and cyberbullying.

Johnnie’s practice areas include criminal law, estate planning, and transactional legal matters. 

TIMOTHY P. KOLLER, ESQUIRE                  Associate Attorney

  Timothy is a licensed attorney in the State of North Carolina.  Timothy completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at the American Military University in 2009 in Fire Science Management with a minor in History as a member of the Epsilon Pi Phi honor society for Emergency Services.  Timothy also holds a Masters in American Legal Studies from the American Military University and graduated in 2012 as a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma honor society for Criminal Justice.  Timothy attended law school at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2014.  During law school Timothy interned with the Rockhill Law Group in southern Maryland working in private criminal defense practice. Timothy joined Gunther Law Group as an intern in May of 2012.  While interning at Gunther Law Group, Timothy completed his 3rd Year Practice under the supervision of Rachel S. Gunther, Esq. in the areas of family law, civil litigation, and misdemeanor criminal defense. 

  Prior to attending law school, Timothy served in the United States Navy for twelve years and left the service to pursue his legal career.  While on active duty, Timothy served aboard USS Trenton (LPD-14), pre-commissioned and commissioned the USS Nitze (DDG-94), USS Mahan (DDG-72), was a member of Special Boat Team Twenty (SBT-20) based at JAB Little Creek in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and finally completed his service as the Emergency Operations Center Manager and Emergency Management Assistant at Naval Station Norfolk.  Timothy made two combat deployments in support of the Global War on Terror his service decorations include two Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals and a Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service as the Naval Station Norfolk Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program manager. 

  Timothy’s practice includes all general civil litigation matters, family law including divorce, custody (including 3rd party relative practice), military law.  He is the Attorney Advocate for the Guardian ad Litem program for Gates, Chowan, and Currituck County.

CORY J. WOLFE                                                                                                                                                                         
Cory Wolfe is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, having earned his Juris Doctor in May 2014. Prior to law school, Cory earned a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Peace, War, and Defense from the University of North Carolina. Cory formerly served as a legal assistant at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within the Department of Homeland Security, and as a researcher at the North Carolina Justice Center in Raleigh, NC. As a 2012-2013 Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow, Cory completed his fourth year of study in Modern Standard Arabic. Cory currently lives in Hertford, NC.
